The tomb consists of a single chamber with a double-sloped ceiling and two high benches along the side walls. The decoration is limited to the two gables, where two large panthers are depicted facing each other, resting their front paws on a feline protome placed in the centre and depicted frontally. The paintings in the Tomb of the Panthers are the oldest example of figurative paintings in Tarquinia.
