Church of the Suffrage
Old Town
Church of the Suffrage
1751 – 1761
Built through the generosity of some citizens (1751-61) and consecrated by Bishop St. Giustiniani, it has a late Baroque facade with a concave-convex shape and two superimposed paired architectural orders.
It has a nave with an octagonal plan, originated from a square, whose corners are cut by oblique walls, and features eight differently sized sections in the roof of the central area.
The church features a remarkable organ and several noteworthy paintings on canvas, including the Madonna and the souls in Purgatory praying (18th century), which is located on the altar.
