Church of the Presentation and Convent of the Passionist Nuns

1759 – 1771

The building housing the church and convent of the Passionist Nuns was built between 1759 and 1771, on the initiative of St. Paul of the Cross and with the consent of the Bishop of Corneto, St. Giustiniani.
The name of the church, known as the Presentation Church, is due to the image of the Virgin with Saints placed on the altar.
The church is small and simple, with a single nave and no separate facade, inserted outside in the facade of the single building that houses both the convent and the church.
The entrance to the church is distinguished by an architrave portal surmounted by an arched window, and between the window and the portal is the inscription saying ‘this is the house of God.’
Inside the church, a plaque recalls that Letizia Bonaparte, Napoleon’s mother, and Cardinal Fesch, the emperor’s uncle, were temporarily buried here.
